I took two Project Management classes with Shawn at San Diego State University (SDSU) College of Extended Studies as part of the Project Management Program. Shawn is a great professor and a wonderful human being, and I enjoyed as well as benefited greatly from his lectures. Shawn understood that many of the students in his Microsoft Project class were getting exposed to Microsoft Project for the first time. He managed to keep the class interesting and engaging, and he gave assignments that best fit the level of the students. However, his classes were not for lazy students or underachievers. As his students, we were expected to complete our assignments and deliver a final project which showcased what we have learned in the program. In addition, Shawn was easy to approach whenever the students had questions or needed feedback on lecture materials, assignments, the class projects, or even career advice. He always made himself available to the students whether in person, via email or by phone. Shawn is very diligent, is always enthusiastic about teaching Microsoft Project and is a real expert in it. Further, his private-sector professional experience and background bring real-world examples of Microsoft Project applications into the classroom. Shawn would be a great asset to any organization, whether in the academic realm or in the private sector.
